Dreams Do Come True

Hi I’m Debbie and I am from a small town in Georgia.  I have always enjoyed working in a customer service  type of employment because I loved the time  I had with all the different people I had come in contact with. I tried my best to have my customers leave my office feeling that they got an answer and also something  that they were looking for. To many customer service employees forget that without the customer in front of them they would not have the job they are doing.

For over 30 years I was having medical issues that no doctor could figure it out until 2004 when  I lived in FL  did I finally get a diagnoses but by then  my symptoms had escalated and the pain I dealt with was amplified. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and ended up going to the doctor one afternoon on my lunch break and was never to return to work again.  It took me 4 years to get approved for SSDI. And I found out in October that I was approved for my disability.

Even with the bad news of Fibromyalgia and having to go on to disability some good has been happening in  my life also. I met my  fiancée in 1999 while we lived in PA. and 4 months later we moved in with each other. Then a year later we moved to FL were I got the diagnosis.

Five years  later after I got the ok for disability my fiancée and I  decided we would get married, Soon November 27, 2004, five years to the day that we met,  I married my friend, caretaker, supporter, companion & the love of my life. I walked down the aisle with my mom helping me but I ended up using my cane and Jim’s arm to walk out. He stood by my side  for over 4 & 1/2 years when most would have walked out.

He was a “DREAM COME TRUE” for me and still is.

  1. Hi, nice to meet you. I shared your coconut pie recipe on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. I’m in a good mood right now and wanted to pass it along to someone! 😀 Season’s greetings!
